About the GLP-1 Weight Management Program
The GLP-1 Weight Management Program, powered by eMed, is designed to provide colleagues with access to FDA-approved weight-loss medications, supported by expert guidance and cutting-edge technology. The program emphasizes sustainable weight management through personalized support, consistent progress tracking, and convenient resources to enhance medication adherence and overall health outcomes. As part of the GLP-1 Weight Management Program, colleagues are required to maintain a check-in attendance completion rate of 75% per three months.

How it Works

Eligibility with At-Home Screening Kit

The program begins by completing a Health Profile with the GLP-1 Weight Management Program Screening Kit™. The Health Profile is a live virtual proctored, at-home screening that captures medical information and a blood sample.

Weekly Check-ins with Live Support

Each week you will have a check-in with a Live Virtual Proctor, which includes a weigh-in and medication verification. Check-ins occur on your selected injection day, with reminders sent to keep you on track. It takes less than 60 seconds - just bring your scale and medication.

Manage Your Side Effects

A dedicated portal enables you to report side effects and receive support. You can also report side effects during weekly check-ins. This feature ensures that you remain on track while addressing potential concerns effectively.

Monthly Medication Refills

Every third check-in includes a brief questionnaire. Completing check-ins allow clinicians to manage your medication dosage for effective, sustainable weight loss. Doses typically increase every four weeks until you reach your maintenance dose.

Seamless Communication

The portal serves as a hub for important clinician messages, ensuring you remain informed throughout your journey. Most communications and reminders are sent through SMS and email, we recommend you opt-in to receive them.

Personal Dashboard

The program provides you with a comprehensive dashboard to track health improvements, weight loss, and adherence metrics. This centralized resource supports ongoing monitoring and engagement.

What diet and lifestyle changes will I have to make?

It is important to follow the tailored diet that will be designed for you. However, some general diet and lifestyle changes that might be suggested include:

  • • Balanced Diet: It's important to follow a balanced diet that's low in refined sugars/processed foods and rich in whole foods. This can help manage blood sugar levels and minimize glucose fluctuations.
  • • Food Color Counts: Fuel up and manage this disease with a variety of colorful, nutrient-dense foods. Enjoy a rainbow of fruits and veggies—dark leafy greens, blueberries, oranges, tomatoes—rich in vitamins, fiber, and minerals. Pair with whole grains and protein, like brown rice with salmon, for a nutritional boost!
  • • Carbohydrate Awareness: Being aware of carbohydrate intake can help to manage post-meal blood sugar spikes. This doesn't mean avoiding carbohydrates entirely but rather choosing complex carbs and being mindful of portion sizes.
  • • Regular Physical Activity: Exercise helps improve insulin sensitivity and can also contribute to weight loss. For overall health, adults need at least 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity. This could be brisk walking 22 minutes a day; 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week; or what works for your schedule. Alternatively, you could do 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity each week, such as swimming laps. Or you could do an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity each week. Adults also need at least 2 days a week of muscle-strengthening activity. (CDC)
  • • Limit Alcohol: Some GLP-1 medications may increase the risk of pancreatitis. Alcohol is also a known risk factor for pancreatitis, so avoiding or limiting alcohol consumption can be a wise precaution.
  • • Stay Hydrated: Some GLP-1 medications can lead to dehydration, especially in the beginning. Drinking adequate water and monitoring for signs of dehydration can be important.
  • • Limiting Fatty Foods: Some people experience gastrointestinal side effects when they consume large amounts of fatty foods while on GLP-1 medications. It might be helpful to limit the intake of such foods.

This information available through this portal provides general information about potential lifestyle changes for participants taking GLP-1 medications and is based on input from affiliated licensed clinicians. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized guidance regarding your health.

How do I report a side effect I am experiencing from my medication?

You can report side effects during each weekly check-in, or any time in the portal to receive support. Side effect support is available 24/7. If you are experiencing severe side effects, please stop this product and immediately visit an emergency room.

What if I miss a weekly check-in?

If you miss a weekly check-in, you will receive reminder communications to complete it within a certain time frame. Please follow your medication’s manufacturer's instructions on the exact time frame that you can take your medication after missing the day. It is important to note that any time you join a weekly check-in at a new day of week, your default day of week for check-ins will reset to this day.

How do I get my refills?

During every third weekly check-in, you will be asked to complete a short refill questionnaire that will be sent for clinical review, along with the data captured during your weekly check-ins, to issue a new 30 day prescription. As you are progressing, your prescribed dose will likely gradually increase. This is usually every four weeks until you reach your maintenance dose.

What are the adherence requirements for the program?

Colleagues are required to complete at least 75% of their weekly check-ins on a rolling three month basis to remain in the program. Completing a check-in too far after your current week’s check-in, can result in not being adherent for the current week.

How do I re-enroll in the program if I was disqualified due to adherence?

Colleagues need to submit their refill questionnaire to be sent for clinical review to get access to the program again.
